Ride Safe, NKY!

Wear a Helmet!

Reduce the risk of head injury by up to 80% by wearing a properly fitted helmet!

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is the leading cause of death and disability among children and adults.

An Estimated 1.7 Million Americans sustain an unexpected TBI each year. Many more go unreported.

Brain Injury Alliance of NKY strives to focus on the prevention of brain injury through education and community advocacy efforts. Our bicycle helmet program helps to spread awareness about the importance of wearing a helmet, as studies show helmet use can reduce the risk of head and brain injury for bicyclists by up to 80%!

Through fundraising, we purchase Helmets and then offer them free of charge to those in need in our community. BIANK and Bridges (NKY Support Group) volunteers participate in various held community events by setting up give-a-way tables to do proper head fittings and distribute multiple size helmets. We participate in annual events including Ft Mitchell’s Hero Fair, student safety projects (most recently with Skateboarding in Covington), Cincinnati’s Children’s hospital safety and awareness events, and more!

If you are interested in receiving a FREE helmet, or getting involved in the program, please contact Lori Tharp at lori.tharp@biank.org
